- Technician Confirmed Vehicles Check engine light is on, with a rough running symptom. Inspection for Stored codes found (4) Stored Trouble codes and are listed as follows. P0455 – EVAP System Fault – Large leak detected, P0300 – Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire, P0303 – Cylinder #3 Misfire detected, and P0463 – Fuel level Sensor "A" Circuit High input. Technician Using Scan tool to monitor for Live data found Active engine misfires off Idle on Cylinder #3, Technician Swapped Ignition coil #3, with a known good Cylinder #1, finding after that Misfires remained on Cylinder #3. Technician Pulled Spark plug on Cylinders #1, and #3, finding Heavy Soot/Ash Buildup on cylinder #3 spark plug with evidence of Melting Electrode. Current installed plugs are aftermarket. Technician using Boroscope was able to See inside of cylinder #3, finding Oil Present, as well as Heavy Carbon, Oil Buildup on Intake/Exhaust valves. Technician Swapped Spark plug from #3, to Cylinder #1, finding Misfire Followed, indicating Source of Ignition Misfire is Fouled/Worn Ignition spark plug. Technicians findings suggest Vehicles Engine is Consuming oil, specifically on Cylinder #3, and Recommends Replacing all (4) Spark plugs, and performing an Oil Consumption Test (Performing Oil Change, Marking Dipstick, and returning in 500 Miles) to determine overall Health/Longevity of vehicles engine, and identifying next step for Best possible repair then.
